February 27th, Ladybird trail was groomed to 19K turnaround. Lots of wet and heavy snow observed on and around the trails and lots of signs of snowpack movement due to the heavy snow on the January slab.
February 28th, Club side trails Frosty's, Shaw, and Airport were groomed. The snowpack is settling and becoming very dense and heavy due to the warm weather. Airport snow base is 245cm's. Ride safe this weekend and check the avalanche.ca for this weekends special bulletin if riding in the backcountry. Reminder March 15th is the member appreciation BBQ at Shaw cabin. Hope to see you all out there. Ladybird was groomed to the backside to ~20km marker, however due to a mechanical issue we turned around and limped the cat down after some trail side maintenance.
Club side, all trails were groomed Frosty's, Shaw, and the airport. Lots of storm snow starting to accumulate. Snow base at the airport was 225cm's Ride safe, CSA On February 12th, we groomed ladybird to the 19K turnaround, appeared to show signs of windblown snow and little new snow accumulated since last trip. Around 165CM's at the 19K cat turnaround but it will be found in much deeper pockets where it will be deposited.
On February 13, we groomed the trails to Shaw, Frosties, down into the airport, and as far as we can on the Bird to Shaw connector (gets too narrow for our big cats). At the top of the airport ridge we observed a snow depth of 215cm's with ~10cm's of fresh on the trail in the last 24-48 hrs. Know the avalanche conditions and ride responsible. CSA, For all our members looking for our new cross over trail from Ladybird to Goose creek, see below Google Earth map for approximate location (Green Trail ).

February 5, we took the 275 snowcat up West ladybird towards the Playpen. Currently right now we are observing cold temps in the alpine, and lots of windblown areas, ride safe. Currently depending on the aspect and your exact location we are seeing anywhere from 165cm to 200cm's for our snow pack with anywhere from 5-60cm's of fresh snow. Please ride with caution, check avalanche reports. Should any issues arise, or you need to contact the club please email us at [email protected]. Be advised in the near future we will be installing new signage into our parking lots that will have some more info for sledders.
