Goose Creek Trail March 27th 2024 Airport and Frosty Trail goomed. We probed 32cms of fresh and a base of 240cms at the top. Snow was heavy to about 5500 ft then grows quickly and was good powder and snowing up top. Road is in pretty bad shape but was much drier at time of grooming. Parking is up around 3.5km but not that much room so park tight. Last groom for Goose this season. We will be taking firwood up to Frosty Cabin next trip and doing some cleanup at the Shaw Cabin. Ladybird Trail March 28th 2024 Norns Creek Trail to 19km cat turnaround groomed. Snow was heavy to 15km then good from there. Probed 35cms of fresh and a base of 195cms. Cat is at 6.5km. parking anywhere after 5.5km water hole and before the cat is good. Thankyou CIMS for making a $500 dollar donation of fuel. Creeks are starting to run so keep an eye out for hazards as usual for this time of the year and check that avy report before heading out. Have a good weekend. Ladybird Trail March 21st 2024
East Ladybird Trail groomed back to 21km. Spring snow conditions made for one of those tougher grooms showing up much earlier than normal. The cat is parked up at around 6km with limited parking. If there is parking at the 5km water hole best to use it as its snow from there up. Road is not great so trailers are not the best. Goose Creek Trail Road up to 3km staging area is still pretty muddy in spots. If you can avoid that road that would be good. Please note we are only recommending not to use that road to help save the road base. Have a good weekend. Ladybird Trail March 13th 2024 Trail Groomed to 19km cat turnaround. Two trees removed from trail. Probed 10cms of fresh and 220 cms at the turnaround. Snow was still good at time of grooming. March 14th 2024 We have the cat in the parking lot but reports today are there is dirt on some of the trail. Still able to avoid dirt with sleds so we will leave the signs up to hopfully have sleds using the parking lot but we may have to wait for reports on whether we need to move the staging area up.Reports today are that the snow has been sun affected and is somewhat heavy. Goose Creek Trail March 13th 2024 Trail to Frosty Cabin groomed as was the airport trail. We probed 240cms up top with 30cms of powder with a very thin crust up top. Please note this year is different and we are seeing that with the road up to the snowline in rough shape. Trailers not recommended on this side and the first 2km after the cat is not great, we removed the signage so if you see the snow is gone feel free to drive up if you so wish. The 350 has done its last groom on Goose and we may do one more on that trail if temps allow with the 180. Be safe out there as temps are way up and have a good weekend. Ladybird Trail March 7th 2024 Ladybird Trail groomed to 19km cat turn around. All went well with 20cms of fresh and a base of 225cm at 19. There is a pretty good crust at the 30cm depth. Please be aware the bottom of the trail is very thin so the easier you go on it the better is will stand up to the melting. We should also mention that we mark trails to not drive trucks up using weather reports and our best judgement please respect our decisions or contact csasled.org to have some input. Parking in the 3km lot for now. Goose Creek Trail March 8th 2024 Trail Groomed to the Airport with the Br 350. There was 30cms of fresh since the last groom. Unable to get a base number as the probe was in the 180. The 350 is now parked just before the bluffs so please remember its 16ft wide. We usually groom at the near end of the week. Not sure if that makes sense so usually thursday or friday. All good to park up to the sign around 2.5km you may have to ride some dirt soon or unload and move you trucks down as there just is not much room up there other than switch backs. Check that avy report and have a great wekend. Ladybird Trail March3rd 2024
