Goose Creek Trail Jan 24th 2019

Groomed to the Airport with the drag to the top. All went well with only one leaning tree having to be taken down for safety concerns.
We probed 197 cm and 20 cm since last groom. The weather up top was cold but when probing there are a couple noticeable thin crust layers on the last 20 cm of snow pack.
Be sure to keep an eye on avy conditions and enjoy your weekend.
Keep Feb 16th open for a family event up at the Shaw Cabin. More details coming soon. Want to help with the event just email [email protected] Thank you

Ladybird Trail Jan 22 2019

Groomed to 19 km cat turnaround. We probed 191 cm of base at 17 km marker and 20 cm of fresh on the trail at about 7 pm.
The trip went well although we did notice some issues with the tiller that will need some attention sooner than later.
Enjoy the fresh snowfall and remember to check the avy report.

Goose Creek Trail Jan 17 Th 2019

Goose Creek groomed to the airport with the drag all went well with the base up top at 195 cm and 10 cm of  fresh on the trail. The  snow was falling for the entire trip. Again we dropped a good load of firewood at the Shaw Cabin then headed for the Frosty cabin. We removed a few trees off the trail and put up a couple more signs.  Have a good weekend and stay safe out there.

Tip of the week. Get your group using radios very inexpensive ones out there that can really make the day less stressful if you get separated from your buddies.

Goose Creek Trail Jan 9th  2019

With new snow on the trail and warm temps forecasted we decided to hit Goose early before the snow became to hard to work with the mogul master drag.
We managed to get  the drag to the 14 km hill past the Shaw cabin  but the fresh was just to much for the 180 to make the steep pull. After dropping the drag we headed to the top to straighten the trail out with the blade and track pack the fresh snow.
We probed 195 cm of base and 35 cm since last groom. The snow was great up top but warmer temps were definitely moving in as we headed for home. Frosty trail was also cleaned up and firewood dropped at the Shaw Cabin.

Ladybird Trail Jan 10th 2019

Ladybird groomed to the 19 km marker with the tiller working hard to spin the heavy wet snow down low. The snow was not great till about the 16 km marker. After that it was definitely deep. We probed 40 cm of fresh at cat turn and 185 of base. Several trees were removed and more signage put up on the trail.

Please use caution as warm temps usually mean the mountains will wake up. . Check the Avy report every ride of course lots to learn just by looking over their website.

Tip of the week
If your on your way down and pass a groomer heading up please ride  the right side of the groomer fresh trail so we can fix up any corners that wash out as the trail is very soft after it is freshly leveled. Thanks for your understanding on this.
Have a good weekend.

Ladybird Trail Jan 3rd 2019

Trail groomed and all ditches filled to 19 km cat turnaround. All went well with approx 15 cm of fresh at the 19 km marker.

Goose Creek Trail Jan 3rd 2019

Warmer temps and talk of big snow coming we decided to track pack to Cooley Lake as we had not been out that way yet this season. Several trees were removed from the trail  from last weeks wind event.
With reports of good trail conditions, our original plan was to save some fuel and not pull the club cabin trail but with the parking lots full again we decided to head up to the the Shaw cabin to pack the fresh falling snow and get the trail back into shape for the weekend.
We probed 161 cm at the Cabin with 15 cm of fresh. The bottom  4 km was very warm with rain and hard to work please be gentle on the trail as we need colder temps to hold the  trail hold together.
Check  the Avy reports and have a great weekend. `
