Club Maintenance/Storage Facility Update

Hello Sledders 
Thought it was time for a quick update on where we are at with the shop project.
​1. Funding to date 

• Area J  / CBT funds $25,000
• City of Castlegar / CBT funds $10,143
• CSA funds your money  $18,000
• Markin Investments site prep donation value $7,920 
• Glover Equipment D-6 cat donation approx value $3,400
• Kalesnikoff Lumber donation of $5,000 plus in the value of lumber towards the building (donating all building lumber excluding trusses)
• WSA Engineering LTD $4,462.50 for complete engineered shop drawings and inspections
• Dirty Diggers donation towards building excavation and site prep approx value $5,000
• Western Auto Wreckers and Towing discounted rates on moving equipment to and from site. 
• Selkirk Truss discount on truss package.
• Several responses to our initial email from Jan about the project thank you 

2.  Work completed to date

• Grant writing and presentions
• Approval from Recreation Sites and Trails BC for the land to put the building on 
• RDCK approval to start site prep
• Revised building size from 40' x 80' to 40'x 70' to allow more room to move at site. 
• Site Prep complete and getting close to ground breaking on footings. 
• Many volunteers and volunteer hours to get to this point thanks to everyone so far.

3.  Whats Next

• We are very close to digging footings.
• Acquire a building permit
• Still asking for any help with project be it through donations or in kind labour.  Our hope is to have someone that would be willing to coordinate the build of the shop starting with footings. If you can help with this please email grooming@csasled.org thank-you.
