Goose Creek Trail March 25th 2020 Cabins have been signed as closed and grooming has ended for this season. All signage on Goose was removed with the cat yesterday. The bottom of the hill has started to melt off with the first couple km very thin on snow. Ladybird trail is in good shape so we will remove signage by sled at a later date. Please note all cabins are closed and grooming has ended in response to Covid-19 concerns. Collection boxes and signage have been removed from staging areas. Hope you all had a great season, thanks for all the support and be safe out there. Please do be sure to practice social distancing. Thankyou from all of us at the CSA Ladybird Trial March 17th 2020 Trail groomed to 21km on East Ladybird. Temps staying cold at night helping trails to hold up. No fresh on this groom but good snow after 9km. Goose Creek Trail March 19th 2020 Trail groomed to Frosty cabin and to the airport with the drag. Wet snow to 7km then froozen to the top. At the airport severe wind drifts over the trail made things interesting. Probed 300cms of base and only a few cms of fresh since last weeks groom. Still unloading in the parking lot,but looks to be only about a week away from dirt areas on the trail. Lets all do our part and stay out of the cabins unless you need shelter for emergency purposes. Stay safe and away from others for now CSA Ladybird Trail March 11th 2020 Trail groomed to 19km cat turn on Norn’s Creek. All went well with 30cms of fresh on top of last weeks snow. The trail had held up well with cool evening temps helping keep the trail solid. Goose Creek Trail March 12th 2020 With reports of a tree across the trail to Cooley Lake we headed that direction first to clear the trail. We then hit the Frosty cabin trail and dropped some propane off on our way by. Next was to the Airport with the drag to the top. All went well with 30cms of fresh and a base of 298 cm up top. Great powder, pretty much from 5km up and more coming. Enjoy your weekend. Goose Creek Trail March 4th 2020 Goose Creek trail groomed to the Shaw cabin. The trail held up great over the past week so we dropped off a load of cedar at the cabin and headed for home. There was a skiff of fresh snow on top of a wind affected base at the cabin. A couple trees in the between one and two km of the trail needed to be removed as they were considered to be dangerous. Please use caution especially on the lower sections of the trail as we are beginning to see some melt off on the warmer areas of the trail. Ladybird Trail February 5, 2020 With reports of the trail being in good condition, it was decided to use snowmobiles to do an inspection for trees and other hazards. All went well with only branch's needing to be removed from the trail. Enjoy your weekend and be sure to check the Avy report before heading out. |
