Ladybird Trail Dec 13th Groomed to 19 km cat turnaround with the BR 275. The cross ditches are filled but please use caution as these are early days and if we get warm temps they may open up again. At 19 km 110 cm of wind affected snow pack. We will be doing at least one more trip without the tiller as the bottom is still very thin so use caution. Goose Creek Trail The Br 180 is set to head up tomorrow morning to get the trails into the cabins and hopefully we have enough base to get to the airport. Please if you come up on us just wait till we see you and stop before attempting to pass Thank you. All the bamboo poles we set with an x are there to mark a hazard. Single poles are generally to help you and groomers with trail direction. During the season if you see poles down or getting buried we would appreciate the help on lifting them once in awhile as it does add to our trip when we have to stop and lift all the poles. Remember to check out the weather reports and Avy conditions, the more info you have the better decisions you make. Also if you have not signed up yet take advantage of the early bird rates before Jan 1st and save yourself some money by signing up online. The 180 is very happy tonight as shes sleeping under shelter for the first time in 19 years. Hello Sledders We have been receiving a few questions on how things are going so thought it was time for another quick update. First on the club maintenance /storage shelter The roof is on and metal siding is 90 percent complete. The plan is to get the building to lock up. Then concentrate our efforts on the busy winter ahead. Grooming plans We were able to totally rebuild the Br 180 tracks last week and installed them yesterday. Thanks to the best track crew ever. Also need to thank Trowlex rentals for donating the large air compressor and Markin Investments for the use of their large impacts for the job we would still be at it without your help. The plan is to have the cats moved up to the staging areas next week and get them up the trails as soon as we get some more snow down low. Sledders have been unloading at the 3 km Ladybird parking lot and up around 2.5 km on Goose Creek. Snow up at 19 km cat turnaround is at 90 cm and up top we have heard 120 cm, so definitely still thin. Please understand that Goose side is a boulder field from 11 km to the airport so we need some snow to be able to cover rocks and make it as safe. Thank you |
