April 6th 2018
Ladybird Trail Groomed to 21 km East Ladybird also known as the backside then back down to 13 km cut block/short cut on Norns Creek. Trail was in great shape so didn’t waste fuel going up any further on Norns. There was 10 cm of fresh up backside. Heads up as there is lots of signs of recent avys up there. Also be careful stepping off the trail as trees that fell early season are now becoming exposed. Snow is deteriorating quick up to 7 km mark. Snow pack seems pretty good past that. Goose Creek April 6th 2018 Grooming on Goose side has ended for this season. Although we had hoped for one more trip up, we just could not risk another track break as its just to much to repair on the mountain. The repair of the track was complete at about 2 pm on Sat, so glad we didn’t try to do it that night as it took much longer than expected. Then we headed down and groomed on the way out so it will be in pretty good shape for the weekend as most sleds were of the hill by the time we got down. Thank you to all those who stopped by to help as well as those that just gave us some moral support we appreciated all of it. We wanted to try get our shop built before we had to do the track rebuild but that will not be the case now.Had a snow report of 40 cm on Monday April 2nd at the airport. Enjoy your weekend and remember the Avalanche report. Comments are closed.
