Feb 8th 2018 Goose Creek
Spring like conditions are great for those who like mowing lawns but not so good for those of us that enjoy nice trails. With the big powder of last week and warm temps the trail to the airport took quit some time to get back into shape. All went well as we managed to get the drag right to the top. Can't say I ever remembered having to disconnect the drag because the wind drifts were to large to push through so use caution if the light is bad up top as they are huge. The snow was hard to work until around the Shaw cabin then decent powder to the top. Open areas were affected badly by wind at the top. Probed 290 cm again and 30 cm since our last trip up. Frosty trail to Bankert's also groomed. Be aware spring conditions mean icy conditions at times be sure to run scratchers and slow down on the trails. Feb 9th 2018 Ladybird The Br 275 was up on Ladybird trail today to the 19 km turnaround on Norns Creek then up Ladybird Creek to 14 km. With only five trees to remove from the trails we were able to head into some new territory for a change. Big wind means big cornices stay safe check the avalanche report. Comments are closed.
