![]() Ladybird Trail March 30th 2018 Trail groomed to the 19 km cat turnaround all went well 10 cm of corn snow at 19 km. The parking lots are in pretty good shape but may get muddy with more traffic over the long weekend. Please when you park try not leaving to much space between trucks as space will be at a premium on busy days. Many days we see the first trucks in the parking lots think there is plenty of room but sledders show up on their own schedule and can arrive all day. Goose Creek Trail March 30th 2018 On the Goose trail we decided it was a good day to take up a pole saw and do some tree trimming while the snow pack was at its best. All went well and we groomed to the airport with the drag. The Frosty cabin got some more wood as did the Shaw cabin. Up top there was 30 cm of fresh spring powder and 310 cm of base. Still good snow from the parking lot up with only a couple dirt patches but remember its spring and things change fast. So all went well to the airport but when we went to turn around the drivers side track decided it was time to break. We were thinking of heading back up tonight but trying to do a repair like that in the dark, cold and very windy weather we decided it would be best to do in the morning. The trail is in pretty good shape as it did get one pass but we tend not to cut as hard on the way up as we do coming down. The plan for tomorrow is to get the repair done so we can come down after most of the sleds are up on the hill. The funny thing about the whole thing is I wrote this report early today so I could just add some details after we got down. Never again LOL Remember it’s the Dan Davidoff memorial ride tomorrow and there will be lots of traffic on the trails be safe and keep right at all times. Check out the Avalanche report and enjoy the long weekend. Comments are closed.
