February 13, 2026

2/13/2026

Trails Groomed:
  • Ladybird - West Side Fork
  • Goose Creek - Frosty, Shaw, Airport (Feb 13 PM)

Parking Lot Update:
Goose Creek, Parking starts at the snow line which is just below the bluffs at 2.5km.  We have plowed out the corners from there and above and the flat spot above the bluffs and if you go up about .5k past there we have plowed out an old logging branch road that fits about 4-6 trucks depending on how you park.

Ladybird, the lot is getting thin, but the snow line starts at the trail head/parking lot.  Please park responsible as we anticipate this weekend is going to be busy.  Follow signage and park on the perimeter first and work into the center lane after the outside is full.  Keep trailers near the opening into the lot and facing down hill for best fitment.

Thank you and have a great weekend, it appears snow is in the forecast.

January 30th - Grooming Update

1/30/2026

This week we have the following plans in place:

Trails Groomed:
Ladybird (January 30th PM)
  • 19K to parking lot
Goose Creek
  • On hold for 1 week, last week we observed minimal traffic

Thank you to the grooming staff for re-stocking the wood shed at the frosty Cabin and to the team that replaced the wood stove.

Please watch out for changing snow conditions, follow avalanche.ca for updates.  Current snow conditions will have some concerning bonds between the layers of new/old and creating some unusual avalanche conditions.  Be aware, and ride safe

REMINDER - Get you family photos and best stucks submitted to the CSA before the contest deadline is up!

January 15th - Grooming Update

1/16/2026

Ladybird -
  • West Ladybird complete up to 21km fork
  • Main Ladybird - planned to groom January 16th, if you're out be mind full of the equipment on the trail

Goose Creek -
  • Frosty Fork
  • Main Trail to Shaw
  • Airport
  • Shaw side of the Bird to Shaw Short cut

GOOSE CREEK PARKING UPDATE -
Snow has melted off the bottom 1-1.5KM of the trail, we suggest driving up to the switch backs and parking there, decent trail starts between the second and third switch back.  To help preserve our snow pack and trail please park there or below.

Snow Update -
From the parking lot to the alpine we observed an ice layer on the top of the snow pack ranging from 5mm to 10mm thick.  It appears the warming cycle during the day is melting and re-freezing every night.  Follow avalanche.ca for updates as to expected conditions.

If you're out this weekend watch the temperature needle on your machine and watch out for your hyfax, it's going to be a tough go until we get some more fresh on the trails.

Be advised, there is plans of us making the connector from Bird to Shaw this weekend, stay tuned!

January 8, 2025 - CSA Grooming Update - Ladybird/Goose Creek

1/8/2026

POW Alert!!!

At elevation we are seeing 30-40cm's in spots but depends on the aspect as last night on Ladybird our grooming team observed windy conditions.  Be on the lookout for wind loaded slabs.

Trails groomed:
Ladybird -
  • Ladybird - Parking lot to 19K
  • Ladybird Short cut to Shaw cabin 50% groomed (we had to run in there to rescue out a sledder down off the trail last night.
  • ***Plans to groomed west ladybird the week of January 12th

Goose Creek -
  • Planned to groom January 9th PM, be on the lookout if you're out there today.
    • parking lot to Shaw,
    • Shaw to Airport
    • Frosty Fork
***Please note the bottom couple k's of the trail are still pretty thin, fingers crossed this weekend's storm brings some snow to help add to our bottom sections.  At this time, we are kindly asking to use the parking lots on Goose Creek.  If the storm doesn't pan out this weekend there is a good chance, we will be chasing the snow line again rather than unloading in the lots and riding dirt for a km or 2.

As always,
  • Ride safe,
  • Check Avalanche Canada for current conditions,
  • Pack out, what you Pack in,
  • Prior to leaving, inspect your gear to ensure it's in full operating condition and you have it with you.  Don't be that person...

CSA, Grooming team.
