Ladybird Trail March 7th 2024 Ladybird Trail groomed to 19km cat turn around. All went well with 20cms of fresh and a base of 225cm at 19. There is a pretty good crust at the 30cm depth. Please be aware the bottom of the trail is very thin so the easier you go on it the better is will stand up to the melting. We should also mention that we mark trails to not drive trucks up using weather reports and our best judgement please respect our decisions or contact csasled.org to have some input. Parking in the 3km lot for now. Goose Creek Trail March 8th 2024 Trail Groomed to the Airport with the Br 350. There was 30cms of fresh since the last groom. Unable to get a base number as the probe was in the 180. The 350 is now parked just before the bluffs so please remember its 16ft wide. We usually groom at the near end of the week. Not sure if that makes sense so usually thursday or friday. All good to park up to the sign around 2.5km you may have to ride some dirt soon or unload and move you trucks down as there just is not much room up there other than switch backs. Check that avy report and have a great wekend. Ladybird Trail March3rd 2024
Trail groomed to 19km cat turnaround. Probed 40 fresh and a base of 240cms. Goose Creek Trail Feb 27th 2024 Airport Trail and Frosty Trail groomed. Probed 30cms of fresh with a base of 203cms. Stocked up wood and propane at the Frosty cabin. Dropped off some supplies at the Shaw cabin. Ladybird Trail Feb 28th 2024 With the hopes of snow coming down to the lower elevations we moved cat down to the parking lot at 3km. Unfortunatly we did not get much in the way of white stuff so we held off on the groom, as we had heard it was not to bad. We will decide if it is best to move back up depending on the weather. Please if we put the signs up to not drive up with your trucks they are there in hopes we can try put a trail in, kinda common sense but thought mentioning it might help. Goose Creek Trail March 1st 2024 With lots of fresh in the local mountains we decided it best to get the drag out sooner than later as the 180 struggles with 34cms of fresh. Base was at 240cms up at the airport. Our goal was to use the 350 but just not much snow up to 2kmgood news it was dumping when we got down this evening. Parking should be good at the lot tommorow if you heading out. Please if you have a personal snowcat do not run them up our trails and all over the mountain as the tracks do sink quit deep when conditions are right. They then freeze up and pose a high hazard to sleds, as what happened a few days ago. Thankyou CSA Check the avy reports and be safe out there. Goose Creek Trail Feb 22nd With reports for Goose Creek trail coming in saying the trail is in great shape past 4km we will be keeping the cat off this week to try prolong the snow on the lower section of the trail. Lots of rock on the lower section so take it easy. Your call if you want to try drive up if you see dirt at the trail entrance. The ice we had at the bottom is now slush and dirt as of this morning mostly dirt. Ladybird Trail Feb 22nd East Ladybird Trail groomed to 24km. The snow was wet all the way back but we gain very little elevation on that trail. Had a report from a rider there was 15cms of fresh a 19km cat turnaround of good snow. Parking is your call, some are parking at the cat and others in the lot. If you choose to drive up its a logging road so keep it in the middle as the ditches may not be so visible. Be safe out there and check the avy reports if your not sure about conditions. Remember its been quit a different year so be sure to remember that as the melt does have some risk and down low its here. Ladybird Trail Feb 14th 2024 Norns Creek Trail to 19km cat turnaround groomed. Probed 180cms with 28cms of fresh since our last run up there. We encourage you all to park in the 3km lot for now as there is enough snow to cool sleds and truck traffic will make the road messy. The cat is still at 7km and will move down if we get some better snow next week. Goose Creek Trail Feb 16th 2024 Groomer is up tonight and reports 190cms of base with good powder ontop of a crust about 30cms below. Again we hope everyone will use the parking lot as the first half a km is pretty icy and truck traffic if not the best. Better snow is not to far up. Have a great weekend and be safe out there. |
